Advanced Manufacturing

Advanced manufacturing is a critical industry in New Hampshire, making up 19% of the state’s economy and paying $75,000 on average. In the Lakes Region, advanced manufacturing employs over 4,000 people, which is 10% of our local employment base. The manufacturing sector has evolved significantly over the last few decades and although it employs fewer people than it once did, the nature of the jobs has changed a lot. To be qualified for an entry-level position, you need solid math and blueprint comprehension skills.

There are many open positions in the Lakes Region in this high-tech industry today, including CNC operators, technicians, quality assurance specialists, and more. Belknap EDC is partnering with many of our local manufacturers, the Huot Technical Center, and Lakes Region Community College to help raise community awareness about the career opportunities the advanced manufacturing sector provides.
