Bill Seed Award 2018, Mayor Ed Engler

The Bill Seed Award recognizes an individual that serves as pillar for the Belknap Economic Development Council. This year’s award winner previously served Belknap EDC as a Director and Officer for many years, he has dedicated hundreds of hours to economic development planning and implementation not the least of which is the Colonial Theater project, which he has been instrumental in moving toward construction this year. He works daily to improve our Lakes Region community and has served in countless leadership positions including presently as Mayor of Laconia while also serving as a member of Laconia Rotary Club. Ed has been on the forefront of economic development policy in the Lakes Region for many years; understanding the interconnection between economic development, aging demographics, healthcare, the environment, and overall need to raise personal incomes and create jobs in the region. He was an early proponent and provided vision for Belknap EDC to focus on redevelopment opportunities and projects that would be catalysts for economic growth and development.
